1.Durga Puja Land

2.Howrah Bridge

       It is the most prestigious for which the city of Kolkata is known. Howrah Bridge is a balanced cantilever bridge over the Hooghly River in West Bengal, India. In 1943, the bridge was originally renamed the New Howrah Bridge, as it replaced a pontoon bridge at the same location connecting the two cities Howrah and Kolkata (Calcutta).It was renamed Rabindra Setu on 14 June 1965 after the great Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore, the first Indian and Asian Nobel Prize winner. But still popularly known as Howrah Bridge.

        Sweet rosogolla is very famous in Kolkata. It melts soft, spongy, fluffy and without any time-consuming white colourd sweet. Rosogola is the sweetest section of the menu when you go to a festival. Other names are Rasgulla, Roshogola, Rasbhari, Rasbari and many other names.

       It is the second largest book market in the world. Here you will find all kinds of books of any language. People from all over the world visit this place because there is a huge collection of books available here. Apart from this, you can sell your old books and buy second hand books here too.

8.Alipur Zoo



     It is the oldest zoo in the country. It is being open from 1875. It is probably known for Aldabra giant tortoise Adwatia, who was reputed to have been over 250 years he died in 2006.

      It is the third largest book rental in the world, which is also the largest book rental in Asia. Here you will find small magazines to international magazines. In this, many foreigners from many countries also come on this book fare.

10.University of Calcutta

       The newspaper was first published in India in Kolkata. The name of the newspaper was Bengal Gazette. It was written in 1779 by Irishman James Augustus Hickey.

     Mother Teresa came to Kolkata in 1929. She was very much affected by the poverty situation in the city, so she decided to serve humanity. Also in 1950, the Mother House of Mission of Charity, headquartered by Mother Teresa, was built. It was also the last resting place of Mother Teresa. After his death it was converted into a small museum.

        Kolkata is the center of Rabindra Sangeet, it was composed by Rabindranath Tagore. It deals with parlokic love and love and spirituality with humanity.


19. The Great Banyan Tree

       The Great Banyan tree is about 250 years old and has been expanded to 1 hectare. You will get to see this tree which is located at Indian Botanic Garden, Shibpur, Howrah which is near Kolkata. 

20. Kolkata Port


    

      Kolkata Port was built in 1870 and was put under the administration of Port Commissioners, that later became Port Trust. This was also the first port to be born in India under British rule and for years it remained as the second largest and busiest port in the British Empire after London. Even in 1920s, a few years after the end of World War I, Kolkata Port kept on handling nearly half of India’s trade.





      Also the temples in Dakhineshwar and Kalighat are very famous. Rosogolla is most ever favourite food in Kolkata, you can get it in any place in Kolkata. There are also many places to where are very famous like Eco Park, Kolkata Airport, Steamer ride, and many others.
